Age Verification Policy

21 and over only

Aged Avenue sells alcohol, so every order must come from an adult aged 21 or over. The age gate at the entrance is the first check, the checkout is the second, and the doorstep is the third — and the doorstep is the one that decides whether the bottle is actually handed over.

At the checkout

A date of birth is required before an order can be completed, and the name on the order must match the person accepting delivery. Where an automated age-verification service is enabled, the details supplied are checked against public records; if the check cannot be completed, the order is held and you will be asked for another form of verification. The operator must confirm which verification service is used before this store accepts live orders.

At the door

The carrier is instructed to hand the shipment only to a person aged 21 or over, to ask for government-issued photo ID and to collect a signature. Deliveries cannot be left unattended, handed to a neighbour, left with a building concierge or placed in a parcel locker. If the person answering the door appears to be underage or intoxicated, the driver will refuse the delivery, and refusing is the correct outcome rather than a service failure.

Failed verification

If identification cannot be produced, or the name and date of birth do not match the order, the shipment is returned and the order is cancelled. The bottle price is refunded, while the outbound and return shipping charges may be retained. Repeated attempts to buy alcohol without valid identification may result in an address being blocked from future orders.

Protecting young people

Do not order on behalf of someone under 21, do not accept a delivery for a minor, and do not leave an order where a minor can reach it. Gift orders are dispatched with the same doorstep checks as any other order, because the age of the person receiving the bottle is what the law is concerned with.

Your records

Date of birth is collected only to satisfy this check and is handled as described in the privacy policy. It is kept with the order record for the period that alcohol record-keeping requires, and it is not used for marketing.
