Shipping Restrictions

Where alcohol can be delivered

Direct delivery of wine and spirits is regulated state by state in the United States. Some states allow it with a licence and a permit, some allow wine only, some cap the quantity per person or per month, and some do not permit direct-to-consumer shipment at all. This store will only ship where the operator holds the required permits.

Rules that apply to every shipment

  • The recipient must be 21 or older and must sign for the delivery in person.
  • Government-issued photo ID is checked by the carrier at the door.
  • No delivery to PO boxes, parcel lockers, freight forwarders, hotels or unattended addresses.
  • An alcohol shipment cannot be rerouted once it is inside the carrier’s network.
  • Quantity limits per order and per household may apply, and an order above a state limit is reduced or cancelled.
  • Shipments are never made to anyone who appears intoxicated or underage, and are never left at the door.

The list of states this store may ship to, the permits held in each, the maximum quantity per order and any licence numbers that must be printed on a label are all operator-supplied facts.Registered business details and alcohol licence information are available on request from customer support. The checkout blocks any address that is not on the permitted list.

Resale and export

Everything sold here is for personal use. Purchases may not be resold, served commercially or exported, and an order that appears to be for trade rather than household use can be cancelled. Orders for events, offices or licensed venues should be discussed with the support desk first, because a business may need a different supply arrangement.

If a shipment is refused or undeliverable

A shipment refused at the door, or returned because no adult was available to sign, is handled under the returns and refunds policy. Shipping charges for a return caused by a failed age check or an unattended address may be deducted from the refund, because the carrier still has to be paid for the trip.
