Description
Winery: Château du Moulin RougeGrapes: Cabernet Sauvignon · Cabernet Franc · MerlotRegion: Haut-MédocRegional styles: Bordeaux MédocFood pairing: Beef · Lamb · Game (deer, venison) · PoultryCharacteristic:Red color with cherry reflections. Notes of black currant, vanilla and exotic wood. Harmonious, fruity and woody aromas with powerful yet silky tannins.Clean and clear nose, but with 50% merlot the scent is round and soft. Some pencil on the nose, typical of the cabernet grape, and red fruits like blackcurrant. Fresh on the palate where the tannins offers a nice backbone. All in all a good Bordeaux.Rich and full bodied. Vanilla, dark chocolate, mocha around a core of dark fruits. Still tightly wound. Another 2009 cru bourgeois that needs time and worth laying down in the cellar.Surprisingly went well with shrimp-stuffed fried tofu.
