Description
Sierra Nevada Torpedo is a big American IPA that makes a bold entrance with a clear, decisive presence. It’s assertive from the first swirl of aroma to the long, satisfying finish, built around a driving backbone of malt and a punchy hop profile that stands up to even the most demanding beer drinkers. The character is defined by complex citrus notes—grapefruit and t lime zest mingle with subtle orange peel—alongside a robust pine resin and a touch of herbal nuance that adds depth without masking the hops’ intensity. Each sip reveals a layered, multi-dimensional backbone: a medium-to-full malt body that lends balance and ballast, supporting a hop-forward attack that remains surprisingly smooth and drinkable for its strength. This beer showcases the magic of whole-cone American hops, whose oils and compounds contribute a bright, skunky-fresh freshness, a resinous bite, and a crisp, lingering finish. The hop aroma is vigorous yet refined, inviting you to lean in for another whiff as you take a swallow. The flavor follows suit: a bold citrus spectrum paired with evergreen pine, then a caramel-tinged malt sweetness that peels away to reveal a dry, slightly bitter finish that invites another round. Torpedo embodies the American IPA ethos—unapologetically flavorful, confidently assertive, and crafted to deliver intensity without sacrificing balance or drinkability. It’s a versatile companion for meals, conversations, and moments that call for character and confidence in every glass.
