Description
The Rhône Valley was first settled in 125 BC by the Romans who used the area as the ideal route for trading between Northern Europe and the Mediterranean. The fertile soil of the region and the Mediterranean climate made it the perfect area for wine production. Combined with copious amounts of sunshine, heavy rainfall, and beneficial, strong winds, the vines have thrived and the wines have become world famous.After a great growing year, the grapes for Tete du Rhone were harvested in early September and continued into early October. From picking, each parcel underwent traditional viticulture techniques with fermentation occurring in concrete tanks. A bright ruby color characterizes this wine. The composition is 72% Grenache 15% Syrah 13%, Carignan. With dark cherry and black pepper aromas, this wine has a round mouthfeel with soft tannins. This wine pairs well with hearty dishes, like classic roast beef.
