Description
Oban 2005 Distillers Edition 750mlImporters and entrepreneurs, the founders of Oban distillery would have approved of the Spanish influence brought to bear with this edition’s second maturation in Montilla Fino cask wood finish. The Distillers Edition is a yearly release of the usual 14-year Oban which is further matured for 6-18 months in a Montilla Fino sherry cask. The dried fig and honey flavours of Oban Distiller’s Edition reveal themselves with a few drops of water.Outstanding. Fruity and pungent; sea salt with crushed grapes, orange zest and hints of smoke. Massively complex. Most explosive Oban ever. Soft malt then wave upon wave of delicate yet rich fruit notes on a tide of brine. Sweetened Jamaican coffee and oak, with an attractive malt-biscuit effect as it dies down.
