Description
Wild Turkey 101 is the iconic standard label for Wild Turkey Bourbon, a name steeped in American history. The origins of Wild Turkey date back to the post-Civil War era when the Ripy brothers established a distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. This distillery operated for nearly fifty years before the advent of Prohibition. After the Prohibition era ended, the Ripy Brothers Distillery was revived. It was during this period that an executive named Thomas McCarthy took some samples of the distillery’s maturing whiskey on a turkey hunt with friends. The following year, these friends requested more of the “wild turkey whiskey,” leading to the now-famous name of the brand.Under the meticulous guidance of Master Distiller Jimmy Russell for nearly 55 years, Wild Turkey has solidified its reputation as a cornerstone of the bourbon industry. Known for its bold and rebellious image, Wild Turkey 101 Bourbon delivers a powerful flavor profile that has become synonymous with the brand. The 50.5% alcohol whiskey is crafted by blending barrels aged 6, 7, and 8 years, though it is not age-stated on the label. This practice ensures a consistent and robust bourbon experience, characterized by its rich, caramel sweetness and deep, spicy undertones.Wild Turkey 101 is celebrated for its high proof and full-bodied taste, making it a favorite among bourbon enthusiasts. Its legacy, built on a blend of tradition and innovation, continues to captivate with each pour. Whether sipped neat, on the rocks, or in a classic cocktail, Wild Turkey 101 offers a quintessential taste of Kentucky bourbon history.
